Tuesday, August 19, 2025 – Rhea County High School Auditorium
The energy was high and the smiles were even brighter as Rhea County High School's Best Buddies program kicked off the school year with its first Meet and Greet event on Tuesday, August 19. Students gathered in the school auditorium for an afternoon filled with laughter, music, and the promise of new friendships.
The purpose of the event was simple but powerful: to bring together students of all abilities in a welcoming space where they could get to know each other and potentially meet their buddy for the year. Best Buddies is all about inclusion, connection, and creating a community where everyone feels seen and valued—and this event was a perfect example of that mission in action.
Music filled the room, setting a lively and fun tone as students mingled, played games, and got to know one another. Whether it was dancing to their favorite songs or just sharing stories and laughs, the auditorium was full of positive energy from start to finish.
Teachers, student leaders, and volunteers were on hand to help facilitate conversations and ensure that every student felt involved and included. The event was more than just a social gathering—it was the beginning of meaningful relationships that will grow throughout the year.
As the afternoon wrapped up, many students left with new connections and a sense of excitement about what’s ahead. If the Meet and Greet was any indication, the 2025-2026 year for Rhea County High School’s Best Buddies program is going to be one to remember.
Stay tuned for more events, updates, and stories from the amazing friendships being formed through Best Buddies!
